Happy Pride month, my dear queer family! 🏳️‍🌈 • While I was pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, and simultaneously connecting with real people over their real experiences, I took particular interest in the LGBTQ+ overlap with faith communities. • Now I am back in Utah, a highly religious community, working with people of all ages who are currently in the middle of what seems like an endless, fruitless wrestle. • The risks for this entire population are too high, you guys, too high. I have described many of these risks on the handout attached, many of which are a matter of life and death. • Luckily we know that those risks decrease significantly when there is at least one “safe space” and support, specifically found outside of the LGBTQ+ community, for an individual to turn to. • Many hope to find this love from those who profess to worship Love. Because of this, I invite you to listen to the experiences of those around you. • If you don’t know where to start, click the link below for a handout that will hopefully offer some insights to get your wheels turning. And if you have more ideas or resources for me, please do share in return. Let’s open the dialogue and keep it open! • This project had been in the works months ago and I hesitated to share just yet because I know it’s not perfect and it’s ever developing, but, pride month feels like as good of a time as any to share this project with you! Help those who are struggling feel the self-respect and love that they deserve. And if that includes you having that conversation with yourself, I’m here for that too. This month of “pride” and always. • All the love~xoxo~ Mads ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤍🤎 #pride #lgbtq #safespace #lds
